Friends!!! We have returned safely from the peaceful island of Jamaica. What an incredible place, filled with beauty, nature, vibrant colors, and warm and generous people. And really healthy flavorful vegan food--ackee, cassava! They grow, pick, roast, grind and serve your coffee--incredible flavor, that first sip of the day was mind-blowing. We learned a lot, we were on the ocean with dolphins and on the river with crocodiles, we drank at a bar out in the middle of the ocean, we snorkeled with schools of flashy fish, and we made music. We were delighted that the Jamaicans we met loved our new reggae song--One Heart--and one lovely man in particular, Kerron Elliott, contributed keyboard, guitar and bass tracks to our recording. He really helped shape the sound of the song with beautiful suspended chords. And now One Heart even has a dance to go along with it, and hand symbols to go along with it, too, and we look forward to sharing them with you.
Which brings us to: FRIDAY NIGHT! We are happy to be singing in Pottstown at Cutillo's, 8-11pm, right on Germantown Pike as you come into town from the east, that sparkly place on the water-- great food, atmosphere and drink! We invite you to come and join our fun, sing along, request songs! We promise to play One Heart AND teach you the dance and hand parts! Since Dave isn't home right now, I can say I hope he will let me bring my keyboard so I can sing our new piano song, The Love of a Lifetime. Dave doesn't like taking extra gear (who would think of a keyboard as "gear"?), and I have observed this trait in every pro musician I know. They like to own gear, but not cart it around. I am new at this, and I love exercise, so I don't get this aversion to toting things around yet. So, if you would like to hear The Love of a Lifetime, please let me know, and maybe I can persuade Dave. Although I do admit, although I MEAN to tote things, I usually end up talking and he end up toting. Love & Peace, Donna & Dave
